STEM week Autumn 2

At Hucklow we teach our science and DT through planned STEM weeks. We have 5 STEM weeks throughout the year. STEM stands for sciences, technologies, engineering and mathematics. As well as developing skills and knowledge in each individual subject, STEM related learning develops children's ability to work across disciplines through project-based learning. During these weeks children will focus on different objectives- linked to their curriculum theme. This term classes have explored science objectives linked to sound, forces, nutrition and this was linked to DT skills around preparing and adapting food, sewing and mechanisms. Children also applied maths skills and knowledge , such as data collection and measurement. Our children love STEM weeks and the work they produce is always outstanding. Take a look at what has been going on this week.
