At Hucklow Primary we admit children on a part time basis into the nursery each year. For a September start date places are offered to children who have turned 3 before 31st August. Children eligible for 2 year FEL provision need to provide an eligibility code number and have reached their 2nd birthday prior to admission.
Early Years Admissions Policy
We operate an "open door" policy and prospective parents are welcome to visit the school. Please contact the school office to make an appointment prior to your visit.
School follows the Local Authority (LA) Admissions Policy for all pupils.
School has a standard number of 60 pupils per year. If the school is oversubscribed then the Local Authority's over-subscription criteria, found in the Primary School Admission Guide for Parents (link below) outlines, the priorities for admissions. Please note that we cannot guarantee a place in main school if your child attends Hucklow's Nursery.
The LA is the admissions authority. All admissions to school are administered by the Pupil Admissions team. Click here for their contact details.
If your application for a place at Hucklow Primary School is unsuccessful, parents have a right of appeal and should contact the Pupil Admissions Team. The Admissions Working Party, an impartial tribunal, hears appeals; their decision is final.
Reception class/Foundation Stage 2
For children aged 4 years at 1st September places are allocated to children by the Local Authority. Applications are made directly by parents to the Primary Admissions team in the autumn term prior to their child’s 4th birthday.
Prospective parents are always welcome to contact the school to arrange a visit to our reception class.
In Year School Admissions
If you would like your child to transfer to Hucklow Primary from their current allocated school you will need to complete a Common Transfer Form, these are available from their current school and submit it to the Local Authority Primary Admissions Teams based at Floor 5, North Wing, Moorfoot Building, Sheffield.
Please be aware, your child may not gain automatic entry into school at this point but will be placed on a waiting list held by the Local Authority.
